Guest view has subtle refinements and a new option.
Patrons can see more detail about when an item is due as well as other copies of that title simply by clicking the due date. The number of copies of the title is shown, how many available and when the first copy is due back. Patrons can choose to list just the copies so they may see the location of the available copies.
Item Type and Genre icons are now displayed in list view when viewing by Title.
A slightly simpler list view option is available for “guest” or “opac” computers connecting using FileMaker.
Less information is shown with a bolder text for the title and the “out” flag.
Clicking on an entry reveals a pop-up window with more information.
If the item is “in” the library, then the popover shows more information including the location in the library.
If the item is “out” then the pop-over shows the due date instead of the location details and a reserve option (if the library administrator allows reserving).
The “show me more” button will show the traditional detail screen.
If the item is out, the “show all copies” button will bring up the list of copies for that item allowing the searcher to find where copies that are “in” might be.
Detail views have been refined to reduce clutter and hide objects that are not relevant to the currently viewed item. For example, if there is no URL for an item, then the URL tab is not displayed.
Field labels can be turned on or off by default in preferences by the administrator, appropriate to the audience and can be toggled on the fly
Subjects appear across the bottom of the detail screen as clickable links - up to the first 12 subjects for each item. Clicking a subject will perform a new search for that subject.
A constrain to Series button has been added to the right of the search field. note: this was already on the easy find screen, but there was room to squeeze this in to the fast find screen!
